I believe today most of the church will say this, "Christ is risen!" then the congregation will respond "He is risen indeed!"
But during Jesus time, there were not English speaking, so they will greet in Greek. First person will say, "Χριστὸς ἀνέστη!" and the second person will say, "Αληθος ἀνέστη!" Which means, Christos Anesti and the reply is Alithos Anesti, Christ is Risen and Truly or Indeed, He is Risen!
Χριστὸς ἀνέστη!!
